# GoldRush vs Solana RPC

> What GoldRush adds on top of plain Solana RPC today for SPL token balances.

## The problem

Plain Solana RPC is generous, free, and self-serve. The trade-off is that any product that needs wallet balances with token metadata and pricing ends up stitching together `getTokenAccountsByOwner`, per-mint metadata lookups, and price sources.

GoldRush ships the primitive below as decoded, typed data over REST. SPL transfer history, Solana transactions, NFTs, and pricing REST endpoints are **not** covered today.

## SPL token balances for a wallet

Public RPC requires a `getTokenAccountsByOwner` call plus per-mint metadata lookups. GoldRush returns SPL balances with mint metadata and USD pricing where available in one REST call.
