# eth_getBlockByNumber on Ethereum

> eth_getBlockByNumber returns block information by block number on Ethereum, via GoldRush JSON-RPC.

`eth_getBlockByNumber` on **Ethereum**: Returns block information by block number.

## Endpoint

## Parameters

| Name | Type | Required | Description | Example |

| `blockTag` | `QUANTITY \| TAG` | yes | Block number (hex), or `latest`, `earliest`, `pending`, `safe`, `finalized`. | `"latest"` |
| `hydrated` | `Boolean` | yes | If `true`, returns full transaction objects; if `false`, only transaction hashes. | `false` |

## Returns

`Object | null`: Block object, or `null` if no block was found.

## Errors

Standard JSON-RPC errors: `-32600` invalid request, `-32601` method not found, `-32602` invalid params.
